Pregnancy Week 6

The embryo is approximately 6mm in l6weekspregnant1ength

Growth becomes rapid this week. The eyes, ears and an opening for the mouth begin to form. The heart is now pumping blood and most other organs are forming. Buds are forming which will later become the arms and legs.

You may start craving certain foods while the thought of other foods may make you nauseous. At this critical time in your baby’s organ development, avoid alcohol, drugs, and treatments that you do not really need. Be sure to drink plenty of water as your fluid requirements have now increased and severe morning sickness may leave you dehydrated

Pregnancy Week 7

The embryo is now approximately 10mm in length 7weekspregnant

The lower jaw and vocal chords are beginning to form and teeth buds are now in place in the gums. The inner ear is also being created

You are not showing yet as your uterus is still smaller than a tennis ball. You may have lost a few pounds due to morning sickness or gained a few pounds, both are normal at this stage. You may feel faint at times and exhausted because of all the hormonal changes happening within your body

Pregnancy Week 8

The embryo is now approximately 16mm in length 8weekspregnant

Elbows begin to and fingers now start to develop. The leg buds begin to develop feet with tiny notches for the toes. Eyes, ears and the tip of the nose appear begin to appear on the face. The intestines start to form in the umbilical cord.

You may find yourself with pimples and other skin problems, this is due to an increase in oil secretions, this should settle down after the 1st trimester. Your nipples will darken and you may notice a line from your navel, which is known as the linea negra.
